Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Scrum Master to lead and facilitate Agile practices for application development projects. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of Agile methodologies, experience in writing and managing user stories, and a task-oriented mindset. A background in healthcare, particularly with health plans or rewards programs, is a significant plus.
Job Responsibilities
- Serving as the Scrum Master for one or more Agile teams, facilitating daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Guiding teams in the adoption and consistent application of Agile principles and practices to enhance productivity and collaboration.
- Bringing a Product Owner mindset to ensure user stories are well-defined, prioritized, and aligned with business objectives.
- Taking ownership of user stories, ensuring they are clear, actionable, and meet the team’s definition of ready and done.
- Acting as a liaison between development teams and stakeholders to address dependencies, remove impediments, and drive project progress.
- Tracking and reporting key metrics such as velocity, burndown, and team performance to ensure transparency and continuous improvement.
- Fostering a collaborative team environment, encouraging open communication and continuous improvement among team members.
- Supporting application development projects by ensuring deliverables meet quality standards and timelines.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar Agile delivery role.
- Strong knowledge of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and experience applying them in app development projects.
- Proven ability to write, refine, and manage user stories effectively.
- Task-oriented mindset with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Persistent and proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues that may hinder project progress.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in the healthcare industry, especially with health plans, reward programs, or related programs.
- Familiarity with Agile tools like Jira, Azure DevOps, or Rally.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Certification in Agile methodologies (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster [CSM], SAFe Scrum Master).
- Understanding of healthcare regulatory requirements and compliance.
