Job Summary
We are partnering with our national client to find multiple Senior Cloud Platform Engineers to join their team as remote engineers. As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and operating highly automated, secure, and scalable cloud-based solutions on the Azure platform. You will collaborate with the Architecture, Engineering, Product, and IT teams to complete a technology transformation and platform migration to the cloud. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our cloud infrastructure is robust, efficient, and aligned with best practices in cloud security and operational excellence.
Job Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain highly available, scalable, and self-healing systems on the Azure platform.
- Develop and deliver the core Azure cloud platform strategy, focusing on automation and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with Architecture, Engineering, Product, and IT teams to define and deliver strategies for modernizing existing cloud and on-premises platform infrastructure.
- Perform cloud platform cost analysis and optimizations to ensure efficient resource utilization.
- Understand, implement, and automate cloud security controls, governance processes, and compliance validation.
- Partner with engineering teams to define and deliver DevOps best practices.
- Implement and automate build and deploy pipelines, CI/CD principles, and proper build automation.
- Define standards and deploy monitoring, metrics, and logging solutions that measure the performance and health of our Azure platform.
- Design, manage, and maintain tools to automate operational processes.
- Conduct regular platform maintenance, patching, and software updates.
- Research, explore, prototype, and implement services in Azure to enhance functionality.
- Work with partners, vendors, and other product and engineering teams to analyze, design, and deliver technology solutions.
- Provide consulting and mentoring to teams on core cloud concepts.
Basic Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), software development, or infrastructure experience.
- 4+ years of experience implementing and operating fully automated, secure, and scalable cloud solutions.
- Deep knowledge of core Azure cloud platform including Networking, Storage, Compute, Container Services, and Data Services.
- One or more Azure specialty certifications (preferred).
- Experience developing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and ARM templates.
- Proficiency with platform monitoring and observability tools including Azure Log Analytics, Azure Monitor, Azure Application Insights, and Dynatrace.
- Strong understanding of Azure security best practices and patterns.
- Experience administering and configuring Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters.
- Experience with on-premises to cloud migrations.
- Familiarity with Azure Databricks is preferred.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with Architecture, Engineering, Product, and IT teams.
